A Tired Mom’s Moment at the Cottage:
Finding Relief with Carbo Veg
Although this platform is more focused on babies and children, I wanted to share some helpful tidbits for the tired mom.
I recently spent time with friends at a cottage on Mississippi Lake, where I indulged in half a watermelon. It was incredibly delicious, but almost immediately, I became “burpy,” and within the hour, I felt uncomfortably bloated and chilled, as if my stomach was about to burst. Lesson learned: maybe don’t eat half a watermelon in one go! I ended up skipping dinner because I didn’t feel great and wasn’t hungry, despite having only eaten a wicked Caesar salad and, of course, that watermelon. Not together, thankfully.
This experience reminded me of when my kids were little. I would often snack on a cracker and cheese or a piece of bread with butter because I was too tired and hungry to properly prepare a meal. Yet, I needed something to fuel me for the energy to cook for my family.
As I sat there feeling bloated and sluggish, my homeopathic instincts kicked in—I realized I was in a classic Carbo Vegetabilis state. The signs were all there: tremendous bloating and indigestion, frequent burping, feeling cold, a lack of appetite, and that sloth-like weakness. All I wanted to do was sit on the dock and gaze out at the lake.
Fortunately, I had the foresight to toss my homeopathic first aid kit into my bag before heading to the cottage. I took 4-5 doses of Carbo Veg, spaced 15 minutes apart. The results were almost immediate—the bloating was 90% gone, the burping stopped, and I felt a bit clearer-headed and even had a small burst of energy. I still sat on the dock, looking out over the lake, but this time I felt much better and could truly enjoy the moment.
Carbo Veg is definitely a remedy worth adding to your first aid kit. Knowing how to recognize a Carbo Veg state can help you pull yourself out of that uncomfortable acute state and back to enjoying your day.
